Wii and Exercise

I got a Wii Console and Wii Fit Game and Board for Christmas from Les and just love it, although it doesn't seem to love me.  I'm dying on the sofa after doing a jog or boxing and it tells me I'm a diminishing fire.  After a jog, it takes me about 10 minutes to recover before I can do anything else!  Also it tells me my Wii Fit Age is 75.  How is that for demoralisation, still I'm young at heart -  lol

Also got Michael Jackson - The Experience, which is a Wii game, where you follow Michael's steps to his songs.  I love it and sometimes it comes up as good but most times there are just crosses, which means useless.   'Good' means:  'not bad but could be more energetic' and there's me having a break half way through Billie Jean and gasping for breath. - lol

I've had a cold since coming back from a New Year get away, so haven't been on it for a few days but tonight, I plan to have a go, as my head is clearer tonight.

I'm going to try and be better than an diminishing fire and get my Wii Fit Age to what it should be or lower.  Keep looking in to see how I'm doing ;-)

  1. Well I am rather pleased with myself. I feel happier doing boxing and jogging but with dimmering I think, but it's not diminishing! I wanted to see what the next one up was. I have been working really hard and Monday night on both I went up to 'simmering fire'. Still doesn't sound brilliant but I received two stars instead of one. Last night on the jogging. I went up to 91% burn and I am now a 'roaring fire' three stars :-D that sounds as if I'm really doing something.

I slipped over in the kitchen this afternoon, managed to save myself but sent down on my knee with a thud. I got alright and pottered about the kitchen but since sitting down, I've got to keep my leg straight otherwise my knee is really painful. I just hope it doesn't stop me doing my Wii Fit. :-(

    I'll keep you all posted.

  2. It's dwindling fire that is the worse comment you can get. I knew it was something like that but couldn't remember when I sat down to write it on here!

Anyway, I became a 'Rocket Fire' last night after jogging and had 116% burn and four stars :-D so I'm getting the hang of it and really am so different to when I first started. I can also most try again as soon as I've finished, whereas before I had to sit down for about 20 minutes (LOL). Still shimmering fire on the boxing, so have to work harder on that. I'm useless at steps because the pattern changes in one section and I get all tongue tied. I'm still a dwindling fire. Hulahoop, I start off alright then lose the rhythm and again I'm a dwindling fire. Will have to practise more on the last two.

I have been concentrating on aerobic exercises but I am going to have a go at muscle workouts as well. Watch this space :-)

  3. I've started doing some muscle exercises. The very first one is not good for me. I've got to balance on one leg, bend it in a hopping position, swing it backwards and forward again, 6 times without putting my foot down and then do the same with the other leg. I can't balance long enough to get in a hopping position never mind swing my bloody leg back. There is a yellow disc on the screen with a red dot and you're supposed to keep the red dot within the yellow disc whilst doing the exercise. You are scored on this. Well my score is '0' - lol I will have to get my balance right.

The next exercise is better. Twisting and bending. Not bad at that but not marvelous. I will keep practicing.

I'm getting better at the hula hoop. :-)

  4. Hula Hoop and Steps I am now a Simmering fire and 2 stars. Really getting the hang of them now. Still haven't had a go at more than 3 minutes on the jogging but still doing well, when I do the 3 minutes. Boxing really flummoxes me. I get a really good score but I am still a simmering fire. I don't know what else I can do other than try and up my score and see what happens. I am still enjoying my exercise regime and stay on for at least half an hour each session. According to the Wii Fit I burn about 230 calories each time.

  7. Right I'm fired up to do more exercise and will try and do at least 3 hours a week on the Wii Fit and try not to take the lift or escalator when shopping, etc. I have been doing a lot of walking when in Dorset, so I'm hoping this will hope as well. Started doing in yogo on Wii fit to tone my waist and back and help my posture. My virtual 'coach' tells me I'm very flexible. :-D
