Non Scales Victory, is a term used on the WeightWatchers Forum. It describes a weight loss victory which hasn't happened because you had a loss at the scales. For instance, fitting into jeans that have been hanging in the wardrobe for goodness knows how long, someone saying 'Have you lost weight?'
I know the weight loss probably won't show on me until I lose about 3 stone. However, I have noticed little personal things. I put my bra on so I do it up at the front and then twist it round my body, so the cups are in the right place. This has been a struggle because it's been too tight around that part of my body and I end up tugging the bloody thing. Now my bras don't get caught and just skim round. You don't know how that feels, no struggling, no tugging, no getting out of breath.
I will post my little NSVs here, when they occur and I'm sure the way I am going now, there will be many of them :-)
Well, I've been going on about measuring myself for a week or two now and I went to do it today, to compare with the measurements I took when I first joined WW. I logged them onto the WW site. However, when I've looked today the bloody figures have all disappeared and i havn't got a clue how may inches I have lost. I am so annoyed. Anyway, won't let it get me down and will measure again and write it down, as well as logging it on WW.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime my lovely daughter Louise who I see regularly, was quite surprised when she saw me yesterday and commented on how much weight I lost. I was so happy because I can't see any difference. Then at the WW meeting another member commented on my weight loss and how much it showed. So, made me feel very positive.
Well, out with the measuring tape then and in a months/4weeks time, will get it out again to see what the result is :-)

Well, I found my measurements on the WW site, so I am so happy to report a fantastic reduction in my anatomy:

Waist: 2cm
Thighs: 5cm
Making a total of 19cm. In real money that is 7.5 inches that has disappeared.

Hello everyone. I had another go with the tape measure last night and am pleased to report a slight change:
ReplyDeleteUpper Arms: No change
Hips: 1cm
Bust: 1cm
Waist: No change
Thighs: No change
So 2cm have disappeared. That three-quarters of an inch. But if it carries on like this, I will be rectangle !! lol

According to my Wii Fit I've gone down a BMI point. :-) and that is in two weeks. I will have to look up what it is since I started.
ReplyDeleteChris/Tina/Teen/Christine/Chrissie/Chrisparkle
Well done, every little helps! Could you move the NSV stuff to 2011 now? I forget to look in 2010. Cheers Teen, xxx
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see how I do that?
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Teen, I remember to look now anyway. Any reductions lately??? xxx
ReplyDeleteWent to my little local bingo session last night and 3 people commented that I had lost weight, which is good but they all know I am on a diet. I wish it was someone who didn't know and out of the blue someone would say something. Still only a stone and half, it's early days yet. I'm still positive. :-)

I measure myself every 4 weeks or so but really feel something is happening. I hope I'm not disappointed when I get the tape measure out in a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteI am almost down into the 30's with my BMI, just half a point to go. :-)

Well, I am a bit disappointed because I stayed the same this week but one of the Weight Watcher members said I looked the best I've been for a long time and then started to tell me the places where it showed I'd lost weight. That was very encouraging because I can't see any difference. I won't measure myself til next week though ;-)
ReplyDeleteKathrine bought me a lovely dressing gown for Christmas and although I can just about get it round me, I don't feel that comfortable in it. I'm going to get Les to take a photograph of me in it, each month in the same area of the house and post on here, that way, you and me will see how I'm doing inches wise. so if I remember later, I will get him to do that. I have to get ready to go out, so that will be an deal opportunity to take the first one :-)

I am so pleased. I got into a pair of jeans that I bought two years ago. I have worn them once but they were very tight and I couldn't do the zip right up or do the button upn. I tucked the undo bit inside so a 'v' was formed round my very fleshy belly button. Most uncomfortable. Never wore them again until tonight. I thought I'd give them a go and blow me down, I can zip all the way, do the button and when I went to the loo, I pulled them down without undoing the button or the zip lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to measure myself :-)
Chris/Tina/Teen/Christine/Chrissie/Chrisparkle
Well done Teen, that's the sort of thing that encourages you and spurs you on, OK so you stayed the same weight wise (which is better than a gain!), but look at the plus points, I can't wait to see you xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe inches are disappearing. This is my reduction voer the last month:
ReplyDeleteArms - 1cm
Hips - 2cm
Bust - 6cm
Waist - 5cm
Thighs - 3cm
Making a total lost of 15" all over from the time I started. :-D that's a lot of fat!

PS: Those jeans I was talking about keep falling down 8-D

This is the best NSV yet.
ReplyDeleteI went to for my yearly diabetic check yesterday. Had blood tests a few weeks ago. I am supposed to take metformin for the diabetes and simvastatin for high cholesterol. However, before starting WW, I stopped taking both. One of the other was making me feel unwell and I kept forgetting to take them. Also I didn't believe that I had diabetes.
Well my blood sugars have gone down to an acceptable level and when I told the nurse, I hadn't taken the tablets for months, she was really surprised and said I didn't have to take them any more. Not only that my cholesterol levels had come down and I was told as I am serious about losing weight, I don't have to take the tablets for that either. I have to have blood tests in 3 months.
My blood pressure was slightly up but that was because I was so excited about my blood results :-D :-D
